Abstract
A new group of controlled chain length oligoazine analogues with pyridine end groups are synthesized and characterized. IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies indicate that delocalization in the ground state is limited to two repeat units (4 imine bonds) but UV-vis spectroscopy shows that the delocalization length in the excited state is extended to at least four repeat units (8 imine bonds).
